1st Line IT Support

Location: Banbury

The Company:

Tibbetts Group is a family-owned business established 40 years ago, with approximately 150 employees across four locations. The business has a global customer base with revenues exceeding £60m.

 

Role overview:

Provide support to IT system users and assist the IT team in the management and administration of information technology infrastructure within the business, covering hardware, networks and operating systems (ESX, Windows etc).

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with the existing IT Team
  • Triage of the ticketing system
  • Provide technical support to all IT users, diagnosing and resolving IT problems and faults using the appropriate tools and methods
  • Apply security policies as appropriate
  • Manage escalation of problems and expectations of end users
  • Liaise with third party suppliers, as appropriate, to the situation at the time
  • Stay up-to-date with the current technologies using self-guided, relevant resources
  • Install and configure hardware and software, as appropriate
  • Understand and operate within security constraints
  • Support system upgrades at all levels
  • Maintain and administer mobile equipment
  • Document all activities in the appropriate logging systems

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Awareness, knowledge and understanding of Office 365
  • Strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills, able to work to multiple deadlines
  • Good problem-solving/trouble-shooting abilities
  • Effective communications – oral and written – communicating at all levels
  • Approachable, friendly, helpful team-player with a desire to deliver excellent customer service
  • An excellent command of English, both written and verbal
  • Good telephone skills, with the ability to data capture and give good, clear instructions
  • Current and valid driving licence
  • Ability to work in a proactive, systematic manner
  • SQL knowledge (preferable, not essential)
  • High attention to detail

Additional Job details:

  • Hours – 40 hrs per week Monday to Friday (Monday-Friday – 8.30am-5.00pm)
