Product Manager – Atcham

Role Overview:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a long established and respected business supplying fasteners and fixings to the construction industry. Now part of an industrial group of companies, the business continues to grow. This role is to help Powell Gee maximise it product offering through new product development, product range enhancements and the drafting and maintenance of technical data to support that offering. This role is based at Powell Gee in Atcham.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all relevant product master data sits on the ERP system (Winman)
  • Creating new part numbers to agreed formula and entered ERP system with prices
  • Supporting the forecasting and planning process by ensure all products are set up to match the customer/product profile
  • Working with the Sales and Procurement teams to ensure customer forecasts are uploaded on the ERP system and reviewed on a regular basis.
  • Ensuring structured price lists are kept up-to-date in order for the team to manage pricing effectively
  • Maintaining and update customer prices ready for approval by Sales
  • Developing photographic, digital and video representation of products to enhance product awareness
  • Ensuring regular customer updates are provided for Marketing, detailing new and updated product range information for regular bulletins/communications.
  • Providing support to the Sales team and customers in the provision of technical data sheets
  • Liaising with the Technical Sales Manager to develop application information for all products
  • Proposing new products where a range needs to be augmented, or in response to competitor product development and participate in Think Tank meetings
  • Analysing and benchmarking all key product groups against key competitors on a regular basis
  • Range consolidation of future acquisition parts and stock, highlighting all technical characteristics to assist the Procurement team on supplier consolidation
  • Proactively support the business, identifying opportunities and provide direction on range and sales development
  • Assisting with internal sub-contracting technical requirements
  • Liaising with Procurement to purchase new products
  • Ensuring new products are presented and explained to all relevant departments
  • Co-ordinate and drive product marketing activity to targeted customers

Experience / Skills Required:

  • Strong data analysis and management to analyse and interpret large data sets
  • High degree of commercial acumen, understanding market analysis, and entrepreneurial spirit to ensure products deliver on-going sales or customer value growth
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to communicate with a variety of stakeholders at different levels of seniority and knowledge, both inside and outside the business
  • Team player who can work with and pull together colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
