Purchasing Analyst – Stokenchurch or Banbury

Location: Stokenchurch

Role Overview:

To source quality suppliers that fit into our purchase strategy and that can add value to the business. Undertake and develop a strategy to drive cost down and ensure margins are maintained or improved, through effective negotiation, without impacting on the quality or service levels of the product, based at BFC (UK supplier of choice for bespoke components and fasteners to the global automotive, aerospace and industrial manufacturing sectors) in Stokenchurch.

 

Key responsibilities include:

To follow the business purchasing strategy, be it brand or quality led, and develop an effective supplier sourcing and management process.

  • Sourcing & RQF Management
    • Use RFQ log and THINK TANK to use approved suppliers to win new business, liaising with the sales team.
    • Potential alternative suppliers to ensure continued supply of approved product where there are supply issues with main supplier
    • New Product approvals by liaising with BFC engineering/product teams
    • Ensuring best cost is achieved at all times
  • Suppliers
    • Regular planned reviews with suppliers with focus on building business relationships, range fulfilment and cost saving initiatives.
    • Manage Prime suppliers effectively
    • Liaise with WJI to ensure performance criteria is met with Far East Suppliers
  • Product data sets
    • Product ID creation
    • Product descriptions
    • Prime supplier and sequences
    • Supplier Lead times
    • Supplier input costs
    • Product groups / classifications
    • BOM and  structures
  • Other
    • Sourcing suppliers for Parts not linked with any suppliers (Product status – “Z”)
    • Sold at <30% – meeting with sales to look at any key lines to achieve better costs
    • Liaise with BFC PM and Engineering and manage development log from procurement side with monthly reporting
    • Invoice queries – work to resolve and find long-term solution to all invoice queries

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft applications (intermediate Excel)
  • Strong attention to detail and must have proven experience of working at a detailed level
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, analytical, trouble shooting and team building skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) – dealing with multiple geographical locations and languages
  • Must be organised, efficient and work methodically
  • Industry knowledge/experience desirable

Additional Job details:

  • Location – Stokenchurch or Banbury, with the requirement to travel to other sites on occasion
