Tibbetts Angels return to spread Christmas cheer across Banbury
For a number of years, the Tibbetts Angels have been spreading festive cheer across Banburyshire, through their Christmas boxes packed with goodies, and gifted to fantastic local charities including Home Start, BYHP and the Salvation Army.
This year, the Tibbetts Angels are looking to better their record of over 140 boxes, set in 2018, but they need help from Banbury locals and businesses.
They would like donations to help fill their boxes for adults, teenagers and children.
Items can include:
- Hats/Gloves/Scarves/warm socks
- Colouring/Puzzle Books, pens, crayons
- Shower gel/bath/lotion sets
- Deodorants – non-aerosol
- Shaving foam sets, toothbrushes, hair brushes/combs, hair accessories
- Festive table napkins/Christmas Crackers
- Gifts items i.e. Jewellery, Games, Books
This list is not exhaustive but a guide
Speaking of Tibbetts Angels’ efforts, Group Operations Manager, Emma Cousins said:
“Every year we are astounded by the generosity of locals and businesses across Banbury. Without their kind donations, our Christmas boxes couldn’t happen.
“Tibbetts staff donate so much of their time and effort, as well as items to make this happen. It is an honour to have grown our Christmas box appeal for another year, whilst making however big or small, a difference to those who need it during this time of year.”
Boxes will be distributed to Banburyshire’s local charities including:
BYHP: Banbury Young Homelessness Project are dedicated to supporting Banbury’s young adults aged 13 to 25 who are at risk of homelessness and are, together with their family, disadvantaged or simply in need of help and support. BYHP is represented across Banbury, Bicester, Chipping Norton and surrounding areas and villages.
Home Start: Supporting families in need, Home Start volunteers help families with young children deal with the challenges they face. Helping them cope, improve confidence and very importantly, build better lives for their children.
The Salvation Army: Pivotal in communities around the UK, the Salvation Army are wholly dedicated in supporting those who need it most, when they need it most. With compassion running through everything they do, they’re committed in transforming lives in every community.
Tibbetts will be receiving all donations at Tibbetts House, Beaumont Road the week of 25th – 29th November. However arrangements can be made for donations of larger quantities.
