Powell Gee and CFT start to integrate

In a strategic move to form one of the UK’s largest specialists of Roofing and Cladding Fasteners and Components, supplying quality products from stock on a next day service, Powell Gee are delighted to share details regarding the planned integration of Construction Fastener Techniques Ltd (CFT).

The detailed and planned integration of CFT and Powell Gee has started, and the first stage will commence in April when emails and telephone systems are brought together. In May, customer accounts will start to be integrated, with product slowly following in a measured and planned manner.

For customers seeking answers to the key questions regarding the integration, please find more information below:

 

Will the way we order change? No, you can continue to order products over the phone, send orders by email or electronically. Wayne and Bill will be able to continue to take your enquiries or you will be able to speak to our other skilled sales team to assist you with your enquiry.

Current CFT customers with a Powell Gee Account: Customers will be asked to use the Powell Gee Account from 1st May 2025.

Current CFT customers who do not currently have a Powell Gee account: A new Powell Gee account will be created and used for all orders form 1st May 2025 onwards.

Where will CFT finance be controlled from? As planned, Carol Brown will retire, and the complete finance function will be controlled from Tibbetts HQ in Banbury. Please ensure any remittance advice or account receivable or payable queries are sent to finance@tibbettsgroup.com or call 01295 257010, option 3.

Which account do we pay? We ask that you continue to pay the previous CFT account separately and pay the new bank account from the new account date (May 1st)

Will the terms remain the same? Products will be sold using the Powell Gee terms and conditions.

Will the payment terms remain the same? In 99% of cases the payment terms will remain the same.

Will the Incoterms change? 99% of Incoterms will remain the same.

Will the prices remain the same? In 99% of the cases, the prices will remain as per the last CFT sold price. The last purchased price remains the price used in most cases.

Will the product be the same? We are planning to enhance the products with no uplift in cost to the customer, meaning in most cases we will move from a BZP finish to a +500-hour product. The product integration plan will ensure high availability of products and sell through the old BZP stocks, superseding them with +500-hour stocks when they have been consumed.

Can I continue to order BZP standard products? Whilst we wish to increase the quality of all products sold from BZP to +500 hours, if you have a specific request to remain with BZP products, this can be arranged, and we ask you speak to your sales representative.

What stock is available? Powell Gee and CFT have over £3.5m worth of stocks in the UK. In addition to this, we continue to invest heavily in finished moulded / washered stocks that are available on a next day delivery.

What will the documents look like? Customers will continue to receive order acknowledgements, delivery advice notes and invoices with both Powell Gee and CFT from 1st May.

What part numbers will be on the documents? As we evolve and integrate, we will move to Powell Gee part numbers, however in the interim period, both sets of part numbers will be used.

What description will be on the documents? An industry standard description will be on all parts sold on all documents provided.

Who is my sales representative? Each account will be given a sales representative that will be responsible for managing the accounts.

Will CFT product be available that is currently not in the Powell Gee range? Yes, we will ensure all product ranges are available as you have purchased previous or as the higher 500+ hours standard.

Will the product accreditation change? No, all accreditation is available on our website or specific accreditation from our Product Management team.

Will the opening times change? No changes in opening times are planned, Monday to Friday 08.00 – 17.00.

Will the telephone numbers change? The telephone lines will be integrated from 1st April, allowing you to choose Powell Gee or CFT from both telephone numbers, choose who you would prefer to speak to!

Will the staff change? Powell Gee staff remain the same and both Bill and Wayne remain at CFT.

Will the email change? Due to the Group’s cyber security, the emails will change from 1st April. All previous emails will exist for 6 months; however, we ask you to start to use and reply to the new email addresses.

Where will CFT Finance be controlled from? Accounts receivable has already transferred to Tibbetts HQ in Banbury and many of you may have spoken to Joanna and the team there. Accounts Payable will transfer in May with full control and all suppliers being paid from Tibbetts HQ by the end of April.

Will the packaging and labels remain the same? There will be no change to “customer specific” packaging. You will also start to receive outer packaging with the Powell Gee logo.

Are my order cut off times changing? No, we will take order up to 17.00.

Can items be delivered to site? Yes, any items / orders can be delivered to a dedicated or specific site.

Can I request a special time or day for delivery? Yes, standard delivery is pre-4pm next day, but we can offer pre-noon, pre-10, or Saturday deliveries at an extra cost.

Can I still collect from trade counter? Yes, you can continue to collect urgent items, however the collection point will be the Atcham Powell Gee address.

Are lead times changing? No, all goods are available to the same lead times. In fact, we now have 95% of all requirements in stock and these are available next day.

To obtain free of charge carriage, will the minimum order value change? No, MOV levels remain the same.

Will you offer same day delivery within a local area? Currently we cannot offer this, however you are able to collect from the Powell Gee Atcham address.
