This week we celebrate Andrea Arucci’s new role at BFC as VMI Sales Manager. Andrea also reflected on her career in the fastener industry and her favourite hobbies in our latest Colleague Spotlight.
What is your role at Tibbetts Group?
“My new role as VMI Sales Manager will involve managing and reviewing the existing and new VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) customers, ensuring that they have the right parts, at the right place and at the right time.
“I will also be ensuring that usage-driven stock is replenished and monitored effectively and without disruption.”
How long have you worked at Tibbetts Group?
“I celebrated my one-year anniversary very recently, on 2nd October!”
What is your favourite aspect of your role?
“I like meeting customers and building relationships. Every customer is different, so getting to know them and their working practices makes it easier for me to identify solutions to the correct production areas.”
Are there any significant projects which you are currently working on?
“BFC have many vendor-managed systems in place with our customers, and we are now working with some of them on new, smart cloud-based solutions. This gives our customers full visibility of stock at all times, making reporting easier at the click of a button.”
What are your future projects or goals?
“To continue developing BFC’s VMI and value-added solutions, which we can deliver in this ever-evolving world of efficiency and sustainability.”
Have you worked in this area throughout your career?
“I have, and my new role is the natural progression for me. I’ve worked in the fastener industry for almost 20 years, and I’ve always had a keen interest in Vendor Managed Inventory and smart technology.”
What encouraged you to go into this career?
“I found a local sales role within the fastener industry, and I enjoyed it so much that I’ve stayed!”
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
“I love meeting up with friends and family, going out for dinner. I’ve got a 12-year-old daughter, so my life is quite busy looking after her. Her social life is better than mine!”
Do you have a particularly interesting hobby?
“I love to dance. For many years, I used to teach Salsa. I need to get back into doing that, as I loved it so much.”
Do you follow a sports team?
“I don’t anymore, but I do follow major tournaments like the World Cup and Euros. My family are all Tottenham Hotspur supporters.”
What is your favourite film or television genre?
“There are so many great films and actors to choose from. Pretty Woman and Gladiator; both are such iconic films. I also like A Star Is Born, with Barbra Streisand.”
What’s your favourite holiday destination?
“We have a motorhome, so we try to get away as much as we can. My daughter loves the sea, so every year we try to go down to Devon or Cornwall. We would like to go to Lake Garda in the motorhome next year, travelling through Switzerland, Germany, etc.
“One of my favourite trips in the motorhome was visiting the Normandy beaches in France. It was quite emotional, that was a nice and interesting holiday.”
What’s something that you’ve always wanted to try or learn?
“I’ve got a fear of flying, so someone said to me that I should learn to fly a small plane and then my fear would go. We have a local airfield, so maybe I should go and spread my wings!”
