Colleague Spotlight: Rodolfo Da Costa, Internal Sales Co-Ordinator

Meet Rodolfo Da Costa, our Internal Sales Co-Ordinator on secondment, highlighting his career development at Powell Gee and wider hobbies in our latest Colleague Spotlight.

What is your role at The Tibbetts Group?

“I work in Powell Gee’s sales department, answering customer enquiries and providing support.

“A normal day involves processing orders, assisting with customers’ requests, as well as answering price and stock enquiries.”

How long have you worked at The Tibbetts Group?

“I’ve worked at Powell Gee for two years and seven months.

“I moved into our sales department in January; I was previously a Warehouse Operative here in Atcham.”

What is your favourite aspect of your role?

“I like talking to customers and supporting them with their enquiries. The more uncommon the request, like supplying a data sheet for a product, the better.”

What are your future projects or goals?

“As I enjoy interacting with customers, I would like to provide on-site support and meet with customers in-person.

“Our sales team supports customers by conducting force tests, like pull-out tests, and checking customers’ project progress on-site. If possible, I would like to get involved with this aspect of customer support in future.”

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

“I like to spend time with my kids and my girlfriend. I’ve got two boys; I like to be outdoors with them.

“I also like motocross; I like to go off-roading a lot.”

Do you have a particularly interesting hobby?

“I knew someone who helps in church in Shrewsbury, and I would go to Sainsburys and buy any food which they needed. They would then distribute the food to local people.

“Sometimes people asked me why I do this, why I give so much away. My answer is simple: why, because I know the feeling of not having anything.”

Do you follow a sports team?

“I do; I support FC Porto. They are, to me, the best.”

What is your favourite film or television genre?

“Fury, it’s a war movie which includes Brad Pitt. I really like war movies, especially that one. I also like 1917, that’s amazing as well.”

What’s your favourite holiday destination?

“That is Portugal.”

What’s something that you’ve always wanted to try or learn?

“I would like to drive trucks, those massive trucks. I like travelling long distances, so I would like to drive a truck.”
