Introducing A New Technical Era At The Tibbetts Group

We are excited to announce that the Engineering function across The Tibbetts Group has evolved into a new, expanded Technical Department – marking our renewed commitment to innovation, quality, and first-class customer satisfaction.

Across all three Group divisions – TGL, BFC and Powell Gee – our shift from Engineering to Technical is more than just a name change, it is a deliberate step forward that aligns decades of experience from both our team of product engineers and product management under the leadership of Group Technical Manager, James Waters.

Having enjoyed almost 15 years of working within the Group, James is well-positioned to drive the future growth of the Technical Department in line with the wider business strategy.

What this means for you:

Customers will benefit from streamlined access to our combined engineering and product management expertise, ensuring even faster response times and proactive tailored support. Ultimately, this evolution means that customers will enjoy the confidence that comes from working with a single, dedicated technical partner committed to your long-term success.

James Waters shared his delight to be guiding the Group into an exciting new technical era, saying:

“I’m thrilled to lead our expanded Technical team and work closely with customers around the world during our next phase of growth. By amplifying our expertise through this structural change, we’re able to provide customers with even more forward-thinking solutions that keep their business ahead.”

Jonathan Tibbetts, Group Managing Director, also highlighted how this development will further benefit customers:

“By uniting our best minds under a single Technical umbrella, we’re accelerating innovation and sharpening our competitive edge across The Tibbetts Group. I’m excited to continue working with James and his team to reinforce the exceptional service our customers rely on.”

The Tibbetts Group maintains high standards of quality throughout each division by following the strict systems set out in the ISO9001, ISO14001 and AS/EN9120 quality standards. These three key quality management systems are integral to the processes of the business.

In addition, the Group also maintains and adheres to IATF16949 quality standards through the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) used in the tier one automotive supply chain. We audit our automotive suppliers to this standard, and also hold the status of UK Authorised Economic Operator.
